First of all, I am going to introduce myself. My name is Makenzie, I am 22 years old, and I am currently a nanny of a one year old girl and a four year old boy (love these kids!).
Yoga has been a huge passion of mine for about two years now, and only recently started lifting weights and working on making myself stronger. Only four months later, and I’ve put on ten pounds of muscle! GO ME!
Here’s my story:
I got pretty sick one day when I was twelve (2009), ended up having to go to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. They were incredibly worried about how underweight I was (64 pounds), we couldn’t figure out what was wrong or why I was so small or why I wasn’t able to put on weight. About ten days later, tests after tests, I was finally able to go back home. With a feeding tube. Having the feeding tube helped a LOT, I was able to reach 94 pounds. They were able to take me off of it, and I was ready to live my life normally (well, kinda). After being free of the feeding tube for a few weeks, my weight had dropped to around 82 pounds. I have been stuck between 82 and 88 ever since.
Fast forward to about four months ago… My boyfriend (yay babe, already getting a shoutout!) and I got a new membership to a different gym. We have been going consistently and working so hard. Four months later, I am now weighing in at 98.0! Y’all, I could not be happier or more proud. I should also mention that I was always told to try and avoid working out, and doing anything too active. Little did you know, doctors, doing the exact OPPOSITE of what you told me, has been the BEST solution.
My journey isn’t over yet, and won’t be for a very long time. This is the best I have ever felt, physically, and mentally. It’s only going to get better from here. If you want to keep up with my fitness journey, follow my blog! I am also on Instagram, and all my fitness posts are on there as well!
Thank you for all the support and love you guys! I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for you.
